
Tanya Bentham – Workshop – Bayeux Beasties
Participants will work from a choice of small creatures – dragon, leopard or peacock, using naturally dyed wools in laid and couched work. Each canvas will be preloaded onto a frame. Frames are on loan for the day but can be purchased for £10. Suitable for beginners or more experienced embroiderers. This is a hand stitching workshop.

About the Tutor
Tanya Bentham has been specialising in medieval embroidery for most of her adult life. She works with medieval stitches and medieval materials, but sometimes adds a modern twist.
Her piece “the three living and the three dead” won “innovative use of textiles” at the 2022 Fine Art Textiles Awards.
She has written two books, (so far) with Crowood press – Opus Anglicanum (2021) and Bayeux Stitch (2022)

NB. All electrical equipment you bring to the workshop, MUST have a current PAT certificate.

We occasionally have a waiting list for a workshop and if that is the case your place would be offered to the next person on the list. If there isn’t a waiting list then you might know someone who could take your place.
