An overview of Emily’s career as a stitch artist whilst talking about what inspires her and her process.

About Emily

Emily exhibits internationally and regularly across the UK in group and solo shows.  Winning a Kent Creative award in 2017 for Visual Arts (non digital) and the Behind the Artist Portrait Prize in 2023. Selected for the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition, Mall Galleries, Wells Art Contemporary, Ruth Borchard Self Portrait Prize (2015, 2023) and has been a contestant in Sky Art’s Portrait Artist of the Year (2014). 

Emily’s inspired by the everyday, but in particular the underdog. She considers herself a storyteller, creating works that highlight environmental plights and wonders or hints at the private life stories of people.
