Vicki Parsons – Workshop – Pulled Thread Work Embroidery

In this hand stitching workshop you will learn to stitch a variety of Pulled Thread stitches.  Traditionally worked with white Coton a Broder thread on white evenweave fabric we will use a coloured thread on a pale background. No previous experience of stitching pulled threadwork is necessary.

Materials required

Evenweave fabric – 25, 28 or 36 count are all fine to work on although 36 count is a finer fabric.

Coton a Broder thread – 1 skein of size 16 in a colour of your choice

You can purchase the thread and fabric online or I can supply these materials if you don’t have them, payable on the day.  Please let Vicki know what colour thread you would like by emailing chair@texgroup.org.uk by Thursday 31st Jan.

You will need to bring the following – sharp pointed embroidery scissors, 6” or 8” hoop, hoop stand if you have one, light/magnifier if you need one.

About Vicki

Vicki has stitched for many years and has completed both the Certificate and Diploma at the Royal School of Needlework (RSN).  Her embroideries have been displayed at the Knitting and Stitching Shows with the RSN, Rugby Library, the William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow and Wightwick Manor in Wolverhampton.  In 2023 she stitched a coif as part of the ‘Unstitched Coif’ project by Toni Buckby and it is now part of the permanent collection at the V&A Museum in London.

NB.  All electrical equipment you bring to the workshop, MUST have a current PAT certificate.
