SUMMARY:Angela Oswald – Workshop - Printing with Nature
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is aimed at experimental printing with natural elements using leaves and flowers from the garden \nBy the end of the day we will have accumulated a number  of prints  which can be used as backgrounds for individual pieces of stitch work or used in collage and  patchwork with additional complimentary fabrics \nEquipment \nMain background fabric to be light/medium weight calico approx. 1-2 metres . \nOptional additional fabric which can be nice to work with could include. cottons\, cotton organza and duck canvas in plain or muted colours. \nAnother option if you like sketch booking or card making  you can  work with papers such as watercolour\, khadi\, cartridge\, brown\, old envelopes and maps \nA variety of leaves and flowers from the garden. Leaves are best if they have quite prominent texture and or veins. Flowers are best if they are single petaled e.g.  primroses \nYou will need quite a few as many as you would like to bring \nAcrylic paints whatever you have available in the colour palettes you would like to work with to include one dark tone.e.g. black\, Indigo\, \nSoft brushes\, water jars\, paint palate\, plastic table cover \, apron \nScissors\, masking tape\, kitchen roll\, dessert spoon \nIf you have one available a brayer roller or small rolling pin \nOptional extras watercolour pencil’s\, ko-i-nor inks \n*I will have acrylic paints and a variety of art materials for people to work with at a small cost \nTo conclude the day we will assess the printing and discuss ways in which these fabrics can be taken forward into stitched textile pieces\, sketchbooks etc. \nPlease bring your own lunch.  There will be tea / coffee and biscuits provided.\nNB.  All electrical equipment you bring to the workshop\, MUST have a current PAT certificate. \n\nBooking Terms and Conditions:\nThe fee is non-refundable if you cancel (unless another person can take your place.)\nWe occasionally have a waiting list for a workshop and if that is the case your place would be offered to the next person on the list.
