SUMMARY:Justine Warner - 2 Day Workshop - Woodland in Recycled Fabrics
DESCRIPTION:Participants will spend two days learning new techniques including blending and layering of different recycled fabrics to make the artwork look “painterly”. They will create a woodland picture based on a season of either autumn\, summer or spring which will be rich in texture and vibrancy. Each technique will be demonstrated as well as individual support. \n \nThe aim will be to have a completed woodland piece by the end of the two days that can be embellished at home. \nMaterials required – \n\nSewing machine with drop feed dog facility or other (cover) way to use free machine embroidery foot.\nOwn free machine embroidery foot.\nSpare needles (no specific sort)\nBobbins\nExtension Lead\nThreads of participants choice of season. You will be given a choice to compete a spring\, summer of autumn woodland scene. Choose colours that match this. Plus dark navy blue (full reel preferred).\nFabric Scissors\nPaper scissors\nPins\n30 cm ruler\nPencil\nNotebook if you wish to take notes during demo.\n\n*Please note we will begin with straight stitch so please do not put your FME foot on for the start of the first day. \nAbout Justine \nJustine Warner is a textile and mixed media landscape artist whose work is inspired by the moorlands\, seascapes\, and woodlands of northern England. Working with recycled fabrics\, experimental textiles\, and stitch\, she creates richly layered pieces with a distinctive painterly quality. Her practice blends texture\, colour\, and mark-making to evoke atmosphere and memory in the landscape. Alongside exhibiting her work\, Justine also shares her knowledge through teaching and workshops\, encouraging others to explore innovative textile techniques.
