SUMMARY:Tanya Bentham - Workshop - Bayeux Beasties
DESCRIPTION:Participants will work from a choice of small creatures – dragon\, leopard or peacock\, using naturally dyed wools in laid and couched work. Each canvas will be preloaded onto a frame. Frames are on loan for the day but can be purchased for £10. Suitable for beginners or more experienced embroiderers. This is a hand stitching workshop. \nMaterials List \n\nKit – £20\, payable on the day\nScissors\nMagnifying glass if you use one\nSketchbook\n\nAbout the Tutor \nTanya Bentham has been specialising in medieval embroidery for most of her adult life. She works with medieval stitches and medieval materials\, but sometimes adds a modern twist.\nHer piece “the three living and the three dead” won “innovative use of textiles” at the 2022 Fine Art Textiles Awards.\nShe has written two books\, (so far) with Crowood press – Opus Anglicanum (2021) and Bayeux Stitch (2022) \nMore information available on her website –  Opusanglicanum \nPlease bring your own lunch.  There will be tea / coffee and biscuits provided.\nNB.  All electrical equipment you bring to the workshop\, MUST have a current PAT certificate. \nBooking Terms and Conditions:\nThe fee is non-refundable if you cancel (unless another person can take your place.)\nWe occasionally have a waiting list for a workshop and if that is the case your place would be offered to the next person on the list.
